Tuncurry Campaign Event

As a part of the More Than Thanks campaign, the Lake Wallis and Bulahdelah Teachers Associations will hold this event to call on the Perrottet government to enter into genuine negotiations with the union and put an end to the unsustainable workloads and uncompetitive salaries - the root cause of the teacher shortage crisis.

The meeting is also an opportunity for members to hear directly from Federation Senior Vice President Amber Flohm.

That the Government is pursuing a new Award that seeks to impose a 2.04 per cent salary cap with no change to the crippling working conditions experienced by the profession for a three-year period is contemptuous.

At a time when inflation is running at 3.5 per cent and predicted to grow, this would constitute a cut to teachers’ real income and status of the profession.

Federation members need to stand together so we can send a clear message to the government that teachers deserve More Than Thanks.

We look forward to seeing you there.
